Form |
The
estimate form is used to display the catalog of items you
have to choose from and the items already added to the estimate.
Basic summary information consisting of the catalog in use,
the customer, the reference number and the total is also displayed.
The following is a list of tasks that you can perform in the
Estimate Form:
|
|
| 1)
Add an Item Add an item to the estimate by selecting
it in the catalog and double-clicking it, or selecting Action,
Add Item. (Note that only bottom-level items can be added. Group
Items cannot be added to an estimate). |
| 2)
Edit Item Information To change item information such
as its description, quantity etc. go to the spreadsheet below
where the item is added and modify the necessary information.
(Note that you cannot edit the Group, Unit or Total column). |
| 3)
Delete an Item To delete an item from the estimate select
the row in the spreadsheet that contains the item and press
the Delete key on the keyboard or select Actions, Delete Item
from the menu. |
| 4)
Add a Custom Item Sometimes you may need to add a one-time
item in order to make some estimate adjustments. Select Actions,
Add Custom Item. This allows you to create a one-time item for
this estimate only. |
| 5)
Find a Catalog Item If you need to quickly locate an
item in the catalog, select Actions, Find item in Catalog. Enter
the name or part number of the item you wish to find. (* can
be used as a wildcard). If the item is found, it will be selected. |
| 6)
Edit Estimate Properties If you wish to change any of
the basic estimate information select File, Estimate Properties. |
| 7)
Print a Wholesale Report If you wish to view the wholesale
cost of the estimate, select Reports, Wholesale Report. This
gives you the total cost to you for items and services in this
estimate. (This is typically only used for internal purposes). |
| 8)
Print an Invoice If you wish to print an invoice for
an estimate, select Reports, Invoice Report. For more information
on invoices see the Invoices Section. |
| 9)
Print an Estimate If you wish to give the customer a
printed copy of the estimate you are working on, select Reports,
Estimate Report. This is essentially the same as the invoice
but the invoice number is not visible, and the title is Estimate. |
